Cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a general term which includes the disabilities in the neurological functions especially in the movement and posture of various areas of the body. This is basically a disorder which is non progressive and starts from the disruptions in the development of the child’s brain either during pregnancy, at birth or after birth. Cerebral is a term which refers to the cerebrum, which is the affected area of the brain and palsy refers to the disorder of the movement. However, most of the people think that paralytic disorders are cerebral disorders but they are wrong. They should not confuse the condition of the quadriplegia with spastic quadriplegia and so on. It is an umbrella term means that it is defined through several different subtypes most of the time and especially spastic and mixture of those subtypes.
